About Saigon_Miền Tây Sound Map
The Saigon_Miền Tây Sound Map is a collaborative project initiated by Officine Gặp, an interdisciplinary creative studio based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The project invites the community to record and share the everyday sounds of Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces — from street vendors and motorbike traffic to everyday rituals and ceremonies, market chatter, and monsoon rains.
Together, these recordings form a growing, living sound repository: a resource for artists, researchers, and anyone interested in listening more closely to the rhythms and textures of life in southern Vietnam.
